BCG side effects

I am a female 80 yrs old and have a history of bladder cancer I have been in treatment for 3 yrs. My treatment after removal of the tumor (which had not invaded my bladder wall) has been BCG. It has worked. I have not had any recurrence of the cancer. I did not have any side effects to begin with but when I did begin to have them they were severe. I had severe pain (what they think are bladder spasms) and after about 6 hrs I can only go about 15 mins between voiding.

So I am up all night with severe pain and very frequent urination. I also have, to stay on Pyridium because it is so very painful for me to void for several wks after treatment. They have lowered my dose of BCG down to a very small dose but I still have this reaction. Just wondering if anyone else has had symptoms that are similar to mine
