cancer a big problem in india

by: S.RAMYA on Tue, Jun 12 2007

i come from the southern part of india. my grandmother was affected with breast cancer and later on with brain cancer she was a courageous and religious woman and was able to live longer than predicted due to her strong will power. it was a pain a see her suffering, the thought of losing her affected me so much in my childhood. she died in 1980, people did not have any awarness about cancer then, as cancer was very rare.

but now we have cancer in every nook and corner. my mother went for cancer treatment 4 years back. we live everyday in peril of a possibility of a secondry attack. i also live in peril for my own life. i don’t understand why cancer has become a more common disease than fever. i personally feel it is because of the nuclear power plant in kudankulam, which is close to our locality. to add to this the central government wants to bring in 2 more nuclear power plants making it a total of 4 nuclear power plants in kudangulam which is in the southern most part of india near cape comorin. will the government never hear our cries, is our life so uncountable. hello ! whoever may read this ,every family here has a member dying of cancer….we are all dying of disease and fear..WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE SAVE US….PLEASE……
