To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download CARCINOID TUMORS I was diagnosed last August after being sick for several weeks, all kinds of scans and test were done, I was tod by my primery docotor I had fatty tissue on my liver and the after another scan he said it was cist. Well then after more test and still being so sick he checked by gall bladder and decided it had to come out, gall stones, Ok, that was easy the laproscopic way, but while the surgeon was in he noticed places on my liver?? He did a biopsy adn it was carcinoid cancer and it was malignant. Now to find the primary so I had more test upper and lower GI, not bad but going to potty was awful:( So he the surgeon says just afer he joins us in a little room when do you want to have the surgery to remove this one place on your small intestine that looks suspicious and could be the primary and while I am in I am goint to look around and see about these spots on your liver and he did, and also removed a spot on my pancreas which was not carcinoid, thank God. Because I new I was in the Lords hands from day one.Well the primary was the place on the small intestine and he got it, I was cut from under my breast to my navel, ugh. But i did fine, Well check with my oncologist and he wants me to see a doctor over at Emory Unv. In Atlanta, great doctor. He scans and scans in Dec. no change nothing has grown, then in feb. I have another difffereeent scan that last 2 days, ugh well the tumors are back and growin on the liver, I am on no meds of any kind and I do not have carcinoid syndrome, fornunate. Well now I am scheduled for surgery their in March, 8 days in the hospital 5 in ICU, he hit a main vein artery or something and I almost bleed out. So instead of removing 60% of the right part of the liver he had to stop and they did like a freezing type thing on all the tumors they could get to. Needless to say it was not my time, my Lord was their with me again.. And my wonderful family, we live in S.C. and it 130 miles to Atlanta. Well I have been doing fine , Dr. K. says my last scan looked good and Dr. M. says my blood counts are great. I just feel so tired all the time and have had some swelling which they are trying to control because the lasix makes me sick so we are working on getting some meds and adding another potassium with it, so I am feeling a little lighter these days as I am not a small person never have been and don’t guess I ever will be. But this is my story and just thought I would like to share because no one I ever tell knows what carcinoid cancer is, even my sister -in-law that is over the Hospise here…. Any feedback will be much appreciated.. God Bless to all. Comments
