I was diagnosed last year at the age of 38 with colon cancer. I had gone to our urgent care facility in Lancaster California on may 4 and then again on may 11th with severe abdominal pain and rectal bleeding and was sent home both times with nothing but pain pills and antibiotics. The excuse given both times was that I had internal hemmerroids for the first visit and the second excuse was the lining of my gallbladder was starting to thicken and this was causing the pain. I told both doctors that I did not want to use any pain pills but this is all the doctors felt that I needed. I called my family doctor and he got me in to see him on may 16 and this is how the cancer was found. He realized that I was in severe pain not just by my elevated blood pressure 150/130 but the pain was unbearable. He had the ambulance pick me up from his office and transport me over to the local hospital. There he ordered a stat MRI and a surgeon on duty came to give me the news that I had a cancerous tumor that my intestines have wrapped around and I needed to have emergency surgery now. I have now been cancer free for 1 one year and 14 days,I have recently had a colonoscopy for rectal bleeding this past tuesday and a polyp has been found but it is not cancerous. I have changed my diet and cut out animal fat out of my diet and started eatng more veggies and fruit. I have even decided to start juicing. I have also started back working out now that I am able too. Oh yeah one month prior to the colon cancer surgery I had just had surgery on my knee. Comments
