3-year-old Nephew and Leukemia

In the spring of 2006 4 months before my nephew would be 3 years old my brother took him to the doctor because he was complaning of his back and legs hurting, and he could hardly walk, at first the doctor said that there was nothing to worry about, he did start to feel better for a while, but one day he started to develop the same simptoms so they took him to another doctor, so they ran blood test, and then that was when we found out that he was diagnosed with leukemia.

Now mind you this child is also a autistic child which he was diagnosed with previously. The hardest part is seeing him go through so much treatment and being so young and not being able to understand what is happoning to him. He now is in remission, which the doctors say this is the fastest they have ever seen anyone go through remission, but i know that it has been all our prayers, and gods grace.

He still has to go through chemo therapy for the next 3 years, and has to have spinal taps to check to be sure that it has not spread to the bone marow, but thank god it has not. He no longer has to take steroid shots which caused a lot of weight gain. If you would see him today you would not know by looking at him that he was sick. He will be starting pre K in the fall.
