    In september 2006 my brother came home complaining of chest pains. Two days later he was diagnosed with a tumor growing on his lungs and his heart. About a week later he had surgery and had to undergo chemo to shrink the other pieces that were left because it would be too risky to remove the entire tumor. It was also discovered that the cells were in his blood and further tests comfirmed that they were in his bone marrow (leukemia). [more..]

    My husband lived with leukemia for 4 years having been diagonised in 1994. It was quite a struggle for both of us since he was using expensive drugs. He had just lost his job and I was a junior civil servant earning just enough for feeding our three children. His doctor had recommended bone marrow transplant which was not available in my country, Kenya, at a cost we could not afford. [more..]

    throughout july and august 2004 i felt as if i had a bad cold no energy lifeless really. I used to ride on my pushbike whilst giving my dog a run.One day I fell off my bike and a young lad ran over to see if I was ok I said I was but the lad must have seen a ghost as his face was a picture himself. That Friday I had a dentist appointment on examination he said he could do nothing he said my gums were bleeding and told me to see the doctor straight away. [more..]
