my dad has lung cancer

by: sf on Wed, Aug 08 2007

We found out Oct 2007 that my dad has stage 4 lung cancer We started chemo the end of Oct he got so sick that they had to stop and change the chemo they where giving him in Jan 2007 we had another petscan done it showed that the cancer had declined in size which was great news, but then he finished his last treatment in March during the whole time he was so sick then he got so bad that his kindeys stop working we put him in the hospital.

I thought that it was over and we were going to lose him but he fought and made a good recovery. In April he was due for another petscan this one wasn’t as good as we had hoped the cancer had increased in size. Now there was no more chemo since he cant handle it anymore so in June they put him on tracivia for 2 months and we just did another petscan on Aug 6 and the results werent good the pill didnt do anything for him. Now the dr want to try more chemo and after almost losing my dad in April I dont think its a good idea I dont want to lose him but I dont want him to suffer again I just want him to enjoy the time we have left together. I am so glad for hope that things turned out the way they did for her dad I wish i could get a miracle I am not ready to lose my best friend.
