False gall stone shocker

by: Bettie on Tue, Apr 29 2008

I had been having problems with my stomach for about five years. I was diagnosed with acid reflux and was put on medication. I was fine up until last fall, when I started having really bad stomach cramps, vomiting, and pain in my shoulder blades. I went to my doctor and he gave me an ultra sound along with and upper gi and I was diagnoised with irritable bowel syndrome, give medication and told that my test were all okay. The problem kept getting worse and I kept telling him that something was wrong with my stomach.

Finally on the night of Tuesday April 1st I got really sick, I had a fever, diarrhea, vomiting and pain in my stomach and shoulder blades. I went the the emergency room and I was admitted to the hospital. They thought that I had gall stones. I was given an ultra sound which showed a mass, the next test was a ct scan and then an mri Within 24 hours I was diagnoised with pancreatic cancer. I was in a state of shock, I went in thinking that I had food poising and came out with cancer.

I was in the hospital for four days, the following Monday I was sent to the hospital again for a biopsy which confirmed the location and stage. I an in the 2nd stage the tumor is attached to one of my main blood vessels and it is at the head 2centimeters in size. I have had 2 sessions of chemotherapy have one more to go. Then I have nine weeks of radation and then surgery.

I am praying to God that I will be okay and to give me the strength to endure all of my treatments. I have alredy experienced some side effects from chemotherapy Keep the faith God knows why he chose us. My husband also says that it does not matter if I loose all of my hair he will still love me.
