Mother with COPD

by: Leslie on Wed, Jul 25 2007

I do not see a lot of stories posted but hopefully that will increase. I am not sure where to turn. I am 38, my mom is 59. She smokes and was diagnosed with COPD & emphysema approx. 4 years ago. Her mother died of lung cancer and still refuses to quit smoking. She has an identical twin who quit smoking 3 weeks ago (has not been diagnosed with either disease) and they both live with their father! A few months ago the doctor told my mom she needs any oxygen tank but she refuses!!! What do I do? What can I do? Any suggestions? Thanks.
