Living with Stomach Cancer

I had a cousin; is a single mother of 3 children who is suffering from gastric cancer. For the past 2 years, we had observed her losing weight and in early part of this year, she is getting thinner and thinner.

She had undergone CT Scan as advised by the doctor because of the symptoms observed in her: black stools, vomitting right after eating , the severe lose of weight. The doctors found out that she has gastritis and was advised for endoscopy procedure to know the status of her case. Due to financial constraints that the family is facing , she endoscopy was not done right after then.

Late November of this year, she vomitted blood (fresh) , which triggers us to bring her to the hospital, and had endoscopy procedure done… It was found out that she has stage 2 gastric cancer.

It is really a struggle for us in the family since we felt the need he need to survive for the children’s welfare. Now, we are still waiting for the doctor’s advise whether to have surgery or not. We wish to receive the advantage and disadvantages of having surgery and other procedures for her to survive. Will she survive? she is just 34 years old….
