Dad w/ Gastric Cancer & Stroke

by: edwin on Tue, Jan 08 2008

My Dad is 64, he suffered a stroke last yr. on July 13th, soon after he went in for a G-tube so that he may be fed through a tube in the stomach. However, while doing the endoscopy the DR. discovered his cancer. He has been going to chemotherapy but it has not helped him since he continues to loose weight. in one month he went from 99lb. to 88lb. The Doctors keep suggesting that I put him in Hospice but I refuse to give up! They will now move forward to radiation. I pray to God that it helps him. Don’t take me wrong I am not being selfish by keeping my Dad alive. I have told him several times that if he rather go and rest, that I understand him and not to worry about me….. I’ll be okay. I guess I needed to share this. I love my Dad so much! He has always been a GREAT DAD. If anyone knows of anyone who has survived a similar tragic story please share.

God Bless!
